Melanie Parsons - Director & Employment Solicitor

Melanie Parsons Employment Solicitor Plymouth

“I don’t do things by halves – I never have. The grand plan was to get married, have children, find work of some kind and complete my law studies, all at the same time. As you can imagine, my parents were thrilled, but amazingly, it worked!

Married with three children, I was a pub manager while working studying law. I worked as a parlegal in Reading then completed my training while attending a Legal Practice course and when I qualified, I joined Pitmans Solicitors in the employment team.

In-house lawyer role at Avon and Somerset Constabulary followed, conducting predominantly employment litigation for the Chief Constable and advising officers on their powers and duties. Then I returned ‘home’ to Plymouth in 2009 to head up Foot Anstey’s employment team in the city, where I worked solely in employment law.

I also have 16 years of experience of the licensed trade – and I’m a fully qualified basketball coach and a netball coach. It means I have a very wide skills base – and I know how the law works in the real world.”
